Torsten Merkel

Torsten is an experienced renewable energy entrepreneur with 20 years of industry experience. As one of the co-founders of Altostrata Energy and later Pure Energy, he has overseen 250 MW of renewable energy deployment in frontier markets in Eastern Europe, from concept stage up to operations, formed and managed development teams. He currently oversees the development of a hybrid 276MW wind/PV/BESS project in Ukraine as well as a portfolio of 1.5GW of green hydrogen projects in CEE. Throughout his career, Torsten has been involved in transactions in various countries, including India, the UK, China, Ukraine, Singapore, Belarus, and the US.
